About the Curriculum

The School of Business is designed to nurture future-ready professional through a unique blend of Academic Learning and Industry Immersion. In line with the University’s innovative Work-Study Dual Model, students gain classroom knowledge while simultaneously building practical experience through Internships. Students pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with specialised pathways in Finance & Accounting and Pathway to Chartered Accountancy enabling them to develop strong functional expertise. The curriculum combines core accounting, finance, company law subjects with contemporary business practices, helping students understand how organizations operate in a dynamic environment.

Pathway to Chartered Accountancy

For students aspiring to become Chartered Accountants (CA), the School provides a strong academic foundation in Accounting, Taxation, Auditing and Financial Management. The flexible Work-Study structure allows students to pursue professional qualifications alongside their Degree while gaining valuable Industry Experience through Internships. Such integrated approaches help students develop both professional competence and practical business understanding.

YEAR 1

Foundation and Specialisation.

This study-intensive phase is conducted on campus, during which students complete the foundation curriculum and the first stage of their chosen specialisation. At this point, the cohort diverges into two distinct pathways. Students pursuing careers in finance prepare to transition into industry internships as financial analysts, while those following the professional accounting track undertake the CA Foundation examination and begin their preparation for the CA Intermediate level.

YEAR 2

Industry Placement

During this phase, students engage deeply with industry and professional practice. Students on the financial analyst track strengthen their capabilities through industry immersion, while aspiring accounting professionals focus on clearing CA Intermediate, with the possibility of beginning their articleship by Quarter 7 or 8.

CA aspirants also have the flexibility to progress at their own pace by completing industry internships and attempting CA Intermediate when they are ready. Alongside this intensive industry engagement, students complete a small set of common online courses, including Human Values & Ethics, Design Thinking and Project & Time Management. These courses help students develop the broader perspectives and professional capabilities required to effectively “learn to work.”

YEAR 3

Advanced Specialisation

Students return to campus for an intensive quarter focused on advanced specialisation within their chosen field. During this phase, they may select additional electives to deepen their domain expertise or explore courses from other disciplines to broaden their skill set and enhance employability.

For students pursuing the professional accounting pathway, this period is dedicated to rigorous preparation for the CA Final examination. The academic program culminates in a 12-credit capstone project, enabling students to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their studies.

CA aspirants continue their articleship until the completion of the required two-year tenure. However, they graduate with the BBA (Finance & Accounting) degree alongside their peers, while continuing their journey toward professional qualification.
